Top 10 highest grossing mobile games for July 2022
ten cents honor of kings became the world’s top-grossing mobile game again in July with total player spending of $225.8 million, according to Sensor Tower.
In his report, Sensor Tower claims that the majority of Honor of Kings gross revenue comes from China. The report states that this figure represents nearly 94.6% of total revenue. The rest of the revenue comes from Taiwan at 2% and Thailand at 1.6%.
Another Tencent game, PUBG Mobile, took second place with $164.3 million in gross revenue. Similar to Honor of Kings, a large portion of PUBG Mobile’s total revenue comes from Chinese consumers. Sensor Tower estimates that China provides nearly 69% of PUBG Mobile’s total gross revenue, followed by 6.4% from the United States.
miHoYo’s Genshin Impact was the world’s third highest-earning mobile game in July 2022, followed by King’s Candy Crush Saga and Roblox by Roblox Corporation.
In its report, Sensor Tower states that approximately $6.7 billion in player spending was generated by the global mobile gaming market on the Apple App Store and Google Play in July 2022. Please note that Google Play is not available in China.
“The #1 market for global revenue in July 2022 was the United States, which generated $1.9 billion, or 28.4% of total player spending worldwide. Japan ranked #2 for revenue at 20%, followed by China, where Google Play is not available, at 17.8%,” Sensor Tower wrote.
Despite player backlash over microtransactions, ActivisionBlizzard and by NetEase Diablo Immortal is in the top 10 of the list of highest earners in the Apple App Store.
