Pittsburgh Parking Authority announces 3 mobile apps to pay for parking time – WPXI

PITTSBURGH — The Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh announced Friday that three different mobile apps will be available to allow drivers to pay for parking time.

The Flowbird mobile app and Meter Feeder app are being added as payment options, offering additional mobile app choices as well as the Go Mobile PGH app powered by Parkmobile, according to a press release.

The Go Mobile PGH app has been available for parking lots in Pittsburgh since 2016, and its success has demonstrated the popularity of using a mobile app to pay for parking, the statement said.

All three apps can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS and the Google Play Store for Android. Users can pay for parking directly from their mobile devices, receive SMS notifications when time is about to expire, and they can extend their time without running out of meter.

“We believe it’s very important to give our users as many convenient ways to find and pay for parking as possible to stay in compliance with parking regulations,” said David Onorato, executive director of the Pittsburgh Parking Authority. “There are several popular mobile apps on the market today and we want people to have a choice of which app they prefer to use.”

The Parking Authority continues to offer credit card or coin payments at more than 1,000 parking kiosks throughout the city center for users not using the app.

The new mobile apps will be available this spring. AMF staff will install new stickers on all parking kiosks to inform users of available applications.
