Nation’s favorite mobile phone games are Roblox and Candy Crush

Roblox tops the charts as the most popular game Brits love to play on their mobile phones with over 2.5 million monthly searches, followed by Candy Crush which gets 50,000 searches each month.

Mobile gaming is a phrase that means different things depending on who you ask, but there’s no doubt that it all started in 1997 with the simple game of Snake.

Since then the industry has exploded into the mainstream and now, with Britons searching for “free games” an average of 98,000 times a month, online gambling experts AskGamblers.com can reveal the most popular picks.

Roblox has been voted the most popular mobile phone game in the country. It allows players to buy, sell and create virtual items that can be used to decorate their virtual character which serves as their avatar on the platform

Roblox is incredibly popular among the younger generation and the 2.5 million monthly searches confirm that.

For British children, it’s a huge world where they can play with their friends and even try to create their own games.

With over 1.5 million players under the age of 18, Roblox is all you’ll hear on the playground, especially with kids aged seven to 12, as 43% of the 1.5 million playgrounds of this range.

In 2021, Roblox made over $1.422 billion in profit.

Candy Crush Saga has been a staple of app stores since 2012, and although search volume is at a moderate 50,000 per month compared to Roblox, it’s still a popular time sink for Brits. With 50% of all players between the ages of 20 and 40, this matching puzzle game deserves its place and grossed over $1.21 billion last year.

Following on from Candy Crush, this is 2016’s Pokémon Go. The walking simulator made popular by the addition of Nintendo’s Pocket Monsters is an easy pick-up and play experience. With an average of 49,000 searches each month, AskGamblers.com can reveal that most players are between the ages of 21 and 30, with young men most likely to join their friends in hunting the little creatures. Although it’s a far cry from console games, Pokémon Go still generated a healthy $887 million in profit in 2021.

Coin Master is next on the list with 43,000 decent searches in the UK. Coin Master had a huge bump in 2019 due to the massive amounts of influential celebrities like the Kardashians, who advertised the game. Since then, it has risen to the top of the Google Play Store with over $1.3 billion. in 2021 and is mostly popular with women between the ages of 39 and 50.

With a steep drop to just 24,000 monthly searches, Clash of Clans takes the last spot on the list. Another longtime resident of app stores, the city-building game has waned in popularity but remains popular with young men between the ages of 21 and 35. Clash of Clans brought in $489 million in profits last year.

A spokesperson for AskGamblers.com commented on the study: “Mobile gaming has always been a strong market in the UK. It’s good to see that the games are reaching out to a much wider audience than before and that new games are popping up on the App Store and Google Play.
