Expand online and mobile gaming options to underpin revenue gains
The recovery from the decline of the pandemic will boost growth in the short term
CLEVELAND, August 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Nominal U.S. personal consumption expenditure (PCE) on gambling is projected to grow 2.3% annually through 2026, according to Gambling: United States, a report recently published by Freedonia Focus Reports. Expenditure in real terms (adjusted for inflation) is expected to increase by 1.1% per year. Progress will come from rising population and personal disposable income, as well as a continued rebound from pandemic-related declines. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in participation in online forms of gambling. It is likely that this trend will continue to some extent, especially as gaming apps and mobile websites become more prevalent. At the same time, increasingly permissive laws at the federal, state and local levels will support consumer participation in gambling. However, restrictions are expected to persist in many areas.
U.S. gambling establishment revenues in nominal terms are projected to see annual increases of 3.6% through 2026. local and online sales. In addition, gambling establishments will continue to improve their other service offerings, such as catering, entertainment and accommodation, in order to increase their revenue. However, competitive pressure from other entertainment providers will continue to challenge the industry.
