ERC’s mobile clinic provides health care to 543 beneficiaries in Yemen last month
The clinic provides free health services and medicines to people living in remote areas of Hadramaut Governorate. W.A.M.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) mobile clinic provided health services to 543 beneficiaries in July 2022 in Hadramaut Governorate, Yemen.
This is part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and provide health services in remote areas.
Dr. Wajdi Al Akberi, the supervisor of the medical team, said the clinic provides free health services and medicines to people living in remote areas.
He added that 15,784 beneficiaries have so far benefited from the clinic’s services.
Last week, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra region and president of the Emirates Red Crescent Society (ERC), stressed the ERC’s willingness to adopt local initiatives aimed at realizing sustainable donations and to provide low-income and vulnerable families with fixed-income services.
He made the statement during his visit to the ERC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where he was briefed on the objectives of the “Hifz Al Naema” and “Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts” projects.
During the visit, Sheikh Hamdan said that the Hifz Al Neama project will help rationalize consumption and recycle excess food, clothes and furniture, donating them to people in need.
The project also encourages individuals and public and private entities to reach out to people in need and enable them to benefit from excess food, he added.
He then reviewed the objectives of the Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts project, which aims to improve the standard of living of the craftswomen involved and to support them financially and socially, as well as to showcase the heritage and cultural identity of the UAE. .
Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied during the visit by Ahmed Mattar Al Dhaheri, Director of the Sovereign’s Representative at Al Dhafra Region Office, Hamoud Al Junaibi, ERC Secretary General, and several officials.
He was then briefed on the strategy, plans, initiatives and achievements of the Hifz Al Neama project, which since its launch in 2004 has supported beneficiaries inside and outside the country.
The project’s food donations have benefited more than 700,000 people with a total of 1,000,147 products distributed worth 21 million Dhs. It also distributed 332,000 items of clothing worth 143,000 Dhs, which benefited nearly 16,000 people, as well as furniture worth 900,000 Dhs, which benefited some 300 families.
