EE partners with Xplora to offer… – News
The X5 Play has a step counter that rewards them with Xplora Coins for every 1,000 steps, which can be redeemed for gifts, gadgets, or used for good causes via the Xplora website.
EE has announced a partnership with kids’ smartwatch maker Xplora to bring the X5 Play to kids to stay active and connect with their parents.
The launch follows a survey by EE which found that 59% of UK parents believe their children have become less physically active due to the pandemic.
A further 61% said they would be comfortable with their kids doing more activities if they had a connected smartwatch, with 40% saying a reliable connection is the most important feature.
The smartwatch works through an app on a parent’s smartphone where parents can set location alerts and manage who their child can communicate with, and put the watch in “school mode”.
EE’s Director of Devices and Partnerships, Alistair Wilson, said: “Launching the X5 Play smartwatch on EE, with its own phone number, can give parents extra peace of mind with signal coverage in more places and a fast global connection they can rely on, allowing them to stay in touch with their children while they find new activities that they enjoy.
The Xplora X5 Play comes with its own phone number, unlimited minutes and 4GB of data and is available via ee.co.uk, EE telesales and EE retail stores for £12 a month with a 24 month monitoring plan.
