Dee Anne Odom of Alabama Power selected in Mobile Bay Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40
Mobile bay magazine recently unveiled its Top 40 Under 40 list for 2021, recognizing emerging leaders.
Among those honored is Dee Anne Odom, Alabama Power’s Distribution Support Manager for the Mobile Region. Odom is responsible for planning the response to major storms and leading restoration efforts. She works closely with the local management team and the company’s Storm Center to make decisions on manpower needs and catering priorities.
“I am extremely grateful to be included in the Top 40 Under 40,” said Odom. “It’s a great feeling to be recognized, even though it would be impossible without the help and support of a large team of employees over the years. “
Top 40 Under 40 highlights people from Mobile who stood out in their field before the age of 40. The winners were selected based on the key role they play in the community. Members of the 2021 class include promising leaders in the arts, medicine and energy industries.
“Dee Anne has shown exceptional leadership in two major recovery efforts after a hurricane impacting Mobile in 2021,” said Steve Kirkham, general manager of Power Delivery in the Mobile division. “His dedication and commitment to our customers, his teammates and the company during these historically difficult times is to be commended. “
Odom leads the large project design and management team across the Mobile division, as well as the capital, operations and maintenance associated with these projects. She manages upgrades and enhancements that improve customer experience and reliability.
In addition, Odom is active in the community, as a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Southern Alabama and the new doctoral program in systems engineering. Previously she was on the Alabama Power Service Organization Advice, Start-ups from Tuscaloosa board of directors and Alabama Coalbed Methane Association Advice.
Odom received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Southern Alabama and a Master of Art from University of Alabama. She is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama.
