China Mobile’s ARPU only jumps 0.3% despite 233 million 5G network customers





China Mobile, announcing the earnings report, revealed that it had a mobile customer base of around 967 million, including 467 million 5G plan customers and 233 million 5G network customers in the first quarter. 2022.

China Mobile has 249 million wireline broadband customers, with a quarterly increase of 8.99 million. The total number of residential broadband customers was 225 million, with a quarterly increase of 7.27 million.

China Mobile’s wireline broadband ARPU increased 1.8% to 32.4 RMB. Household broadband blended ARPU increased 5.3% to RMB 37.8.

China Mobile’s telecommunications service revenue increased 9.1% to RMB 193.8 billion in the first quarter of 2022. China Mobile’s revenue from product sales and other increased 61.6% to RMB 33.5 billion, mainly due to handset sales growth.

EBITDA as a percentage of telecommunications services revenue was 39.3%. China Mobile expects its network operating and support expenses to grow at a high rate due to the large-scale operation of 5G.
